As Indiana’s premier urban public research university, IUPUI believes in the power of transformation. We are committed to providing educational opportunities that transform the lives of our students, our community, and the changing world around us. This commitment includes the partnership between IUPUI and Project Lead the Way. IUPUI was the initial training site for the Biomedical Sciences Program in 2008 and has continued to offer core training sessions each summer. To date, over 800Project Lead the Way teachers have been trained at IUPUI.
The BMS Core Training takes advantage of IUPUI’s School of Science state of the art science laboratories. All classes are held in the Engineering Science and Technology building in the Biology Department classroom/laboratories.All Core Training Sessions are taught by experienced PLTW Master Teachers. The goal of the IUPUI PLTW Core Training is two-fold: to prepare BMS teachers with extensive hands-on training and create a community of ongoing support for the teachers in the PLTW courses they teach.
IUPUI offers on-campus housing for the PLTW Core Training participants at the Riverwalk Apartments. These furnished two-bedroom, two bath apartments include a living room area as well as a full kitchen and washer and dryer.
