With special thanks to Mrs. Lauder, the annual Chocksett Turkey Trot was once again a great success!
The participants enjoyed beautiful weather, there was great support for classmates, and a great demonstration of community at our school. Most importantly, we collected a large amount of food which was donated to the local food shelter.
Thank you once again – Mrs. Lauder, and our Chocksett families for your generosity and support of this annual activity!
Operation Stocking Stuffers
In light of Veterans Day many of us are wondering what we could do to thank those who serve, to let them know that we are thankful and are thinking of them. Would you like to join us in bringing a smile to the face of a service man or woman who will not be home with his or her family for the upcoming holidays?
Operation Stocking Stuffers is putting together 100 care packages for those who are serving overseas and we’d so appreciate your support! (The effort is being coordinated by the mother of a recent Wachusett and UMass Amherst graduate. Her son is currently serving abroad.)
In order for these packages to reach their destination in time for the holidays, we are on a tight schedule. If you are in a position to help out, please send in the items listed on the sheet shared with your child or you may select any items from the list below. We need these items byTues. Nov 17th in order to have time to purchase things not donated. (We’ll keep Wed., 11/18 open for any last minute turn-ins) If you can not find something listed, please feel free to send in a small cash donation to buy the remaining items.
In addition to any items listed, we are also collecting the colored print comic pages from Sunday newspapers you may receive and we are also looking for hand-made or store bought holiday cards or lettersthat could be shared with any of the 100 servicemen and women. Below is just a few of the many things we are collecting. If you would like to do more, please contact me. Refer any questions to Stacey Duffy at .
Donationswill be collected by my homeroom each afternoon until 11/18 or feel free to bring them by Mrs. Duffy’s room
(C-24) whenever it is convenient. Parent donations may also be dropped at the front office if it is more convenient.
Thank you!
