PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT TIMELINE AND BUDGET

Annual Professional Development Narrative (The BIG Picture): Based on the needs of the school, sustained professional development will be offered throughout the year with focus on the following:
Needs/Priorities:Based on the specific subject (reading) and the subgroup (all students) in which WWES did not meet AYP, the following sustained professional development will be offered throughout the year with focus on research-based reading strategies:
- Personalized Learning (SPL) Initiative to include a strong core instructional program and intervention through targeted and intensive student groupings
- Balanced Assessment Approach (administering of assessments & on-going data analysis)
- Professional Learning Communities (PLCs)
Presenter: Amaster reading teacher who is retired from the county (Jane Smith) will be contracted to provide sustained, research based and job embedded opportunities for all teachers.Time:Professional development activities will occur throughout the school year during continuing education days and through the utilization of substitutes and stipends.
