The 2018-19 Application Cycle

Below you will find a list of materials needed in ordered to be considered for admission to the Medical College of Georgia.

Applications

  • Submit the AMCAS application (

Early Decision application deadline: August 1

Official Transcripts received by AMCAS by August 1

Final file Deadline: August 14

Regular Decision application deadline: November 1

Official Transcripts received by AMCAS by November 15

Final file Deadline: December 1

  • Submit the MCG Secondary Application

(Early Decision applicants will need to submit this within 1 week of receipt; Regular Decision applicants will need to submit this within 2 weeks of receipt)

Required Prerequisites

  • One academic year of Biology or Zoology w/ lab (irrespective of AP credit)
  • Two academic years of Chemistry with two labs, including one semester of Organic and one semester of Biochemistry (irrespective of AP credit)
  • One academic year of Physics with lab
  • One semester of Statistics (AP credit acceptable)
  • One academic year of English (AP credit acceptable)

Required Exams

  • Valid MCAT exam score

(The MCAT must not be more than 3 years old from the date of matriculation; No earlier than January 2016 and no later than September 2018)

  • Valid CASPer exam score

(The CASPer exam is a computer-based assessment for sampling personal characteristics and it is used as part of MCG screening for interview decisions. You can visit for sample videos, simulated practice tests, and to register for a test date. You must register three days prior to testing and results can take three weeks to reach our office. The cost of the exam is $10 and an additional $10 for every school to whom you wish to send your results.

Supporting Documentation

  • Applicants must provide supplemental Georgia Residency documentation and/or citizenship documentation. Instructions for this documentation are included on the MCG secondary. Please note that your file is not considered complete without this documentation and it must be submitted prior to the December 1st file deadline.

Interviewing at MCG

  • Competitive applicants will be invited to interview at MCG

(Please note that as of August 2018, the Medical College of Georgia will move to a Multiple Mini-Interview (MMI) format. Interviews will be conducted on Tuesday and Thursday afternoons September through January.)
