Welcome to Jefferson Township Little League (JTLL). Baseball and Softball season is quickly approaching and we couldn’t be more excited about it! Enclosed is the 2016 registration information required for participation in JTLL. Please make sure that you take a moment to read all of the information, complete all pages, and return to JTLL as soon as possible.

Below is a list of tentative dates for important JTLL events. All dates and information are subject to change.

  • JTLL Opening Day event – Saturday, April 9, 2016 (weather permitting)
  • Team Pictures – Saturday, April 9, 2016 (weather permitting)
  • JulyLottery - Mandatory Fundraising Event
  • Fall Ball - Starting in September for all ages

Registration Fees:

  • Registrations - $60.00 per player per division
  • An extra $30 per player if your child is being dual rostered
  • Example: You son is playing in JTLL’s major division ($60) and also wants to play in JTLL’s 50/70 division ($30.00)
  • Each player MUST sell six (6) Julylottery tickets. No family will be required to sell more than 10 tickets. Tickets will be handed out to players once your registration packet is handed in. Tickets need to be handed in by the your child’s first game
  • Each family has to work the hut 2 games out of the season

Registration will be held at the Jefferson Twp Little league hut on Saturday January 23rdfrom 9a.m. to Noon and Saturday February 20thfrom 9 a.m. to Noon. You may also mail your registration checks, payable to Jefferson Twp. Little League or JTLL, to829 Lions Road, Jefferson Twp., and PA 18436.

NEW for 2016: Any child attending Jefferson Elementary School is eligible to register at JTLL. Please remember that original birth certificates are required for all new registrations.A non-resident application requires a school ID. Acceptable ID’s are report cards or school-issued IDs.(See p. 2)

Mandatory July Lottery Fundraiser

JTLL depends upon registration fees and fundraising initiatives to fund all operational costs and capital improvement projects. Please understand that the July Lottery is considered to be part of each player’s registration fee.

The July Lottery fundraiser is tied into the Pennsylvania Lottery daily number at 7p.m. during the month of July. Each ticket will have a three (3) digit number. If a ticket matches the daily number (straight) drawn at 7:00 p.m.onMondaythrough Saturday,the ticket holder will win $75.00. If a ticketmatches the daily number drawn at 7:00 p.m. on any Sunday in July2016, the ticket holder will win $100.00.

JTLL will mail a check to each lottery winner.

Jefferson Township Little League Age Groups

League age is determined as of May 1 of each year

NOTE: The JTLL board of directors may decide the age-cutoffs within each age group

  • Players who are league age 4 – 6 are eligible to play T-Ball
  • Players who are league age 6 and who have played T-BALL for one season are eligible to try out fora 7-8coach-pitch team
  • Players who are league age 7 – 12 are eligible to be selected to a Minor League Division Team
  • Players who are league age 9 – 12 are eligible to be selected to a Little League (Major) Division team
  • Players who are league age 11-13 are eligible to be selected to a Little League 50/70 Baseball Division
  • Players who are league age 12 – 14 are eligible to be selected to a Junior League team.


Volunteer Manager/Coach

JTLL is looking for individuals who are interested in becoming a manager or coach for the 2016 season. Managers and coaches must be adults who are sensitive to the mental and physical limitations of children of Little League age, and who recognize that the game is a vehicle of training and enjoyment, not an end in itself. We are looking for strong leadership in those who manage or coach at JTLL. A solid knowledge of the game of baseball is only one characteristic, more importantly, we are looking for strong leaders with excellent communication skills who are willing to dedicate a substantial amount of time to our players. Our expectation is that managers and coaches are willing to practice 3-4 days per week prior to the season and 1-2 days per week during the season in addition to games.

Anyone interested in becoming a coach, manager, or any volunteer needs to complete the volunteer application and pass a background check.

Volunteer Concession Stand

A parent/guardian of each child is required to work in the concession stand at a minimum of two (2) games. The schedule will be made by the participant’s coach. If you have a conflict with a scheduled date, you may switch with another approved volunteer. A volunteer application must be submitted to work the concession stand.

JTLL Monthly Meetings are the 3rd Sunday of each monthand are typically held at the JTLL hut.

  4. I/We understand that our child (candidate) may be required to try out for a team. If such does not attend to tryouts, local Board-of-Directors’ approval is required for such candidate to be placed on a team

I/We understand that our child (candidate) may be chosen at anytime to play on a Major Division team, if he or she is of the correct age for such division as determined by the local league and Little League Baseball. Declining to move up to such Major Division team will result in forfeiture of eligibility for the Major Division for the current season, and may be subject to future restrictions by the local league.

I/We understand that our child (candidate) must be eligible under the residence and age regulations of Little League, Incorporated, to participate in the Jefferson Twp. Little League (JTLL) and that if any controversy arises regarding residence and/or age, the decision of the Charter Committee in Williamsport shall be final and binding. I/We further understand that if any participant and/or team on which he/she participates may be decreed by action of the Charter Committee or Tournament Committee.
