Dreyfus Foundation Special Program in the Chemical Sciences
Interested in proposals that increase public awareness, understanding, and appreciation of the chemical sciences; innovative approaches to chemistry education, efforts to make chemistry careers more attractive.
Henry Dreyfus Teacher Scholar Award
One nomineemay be submitted each year the institution. Nominees must hold a full-time tenure-track academic appointment, be between the fourth and twelfth years of their independent academic careers, and be engaged in research and teaching primarily with undergraduates.
Dreyfus Senior Scholar Mentors
For applicants who are closely engaged in a mentoring relationship with undergraduate students. Evaluation is based on assessmentof the research proposed and plans for undergraduate participation in the research.
Sloan Research Fellowships
For tenure-track faculty be no more than six years from completion of the most recent Ph.D. or equivalent, unless they have held a faculty appointment for less than two years or unless one of the following special circumstances apply: military service, a change of field, or child rearing.
Marion and Jasper Whiting Foundation Fellowships
Provides travel grants in the $5,000 range to help faculty do research that will enrich their teaching. Fellowships were previously by invitation only but are now open to faculty at all New England colleges and universities.
Research Corp Cottrell College Science Single Investigator Awards
To assist early career faculty. At the time of application the applicant must be within the first three years of her (his) first tenure track appointment, and within twelve years of receiving her (his) doctoral degree.
Research Corp Cottrell Scholars Awards
For institutions and faculty members who are committed to excel at both teaching and research.Applicants must be in the third full calendar year after their first tenure-track appointment (i.e., faculty members who assumed their first tenure-track position anytime in calendar year 2007 may apply only in 2010, observing the April deadline).
NSF International Research Experiences for Students (IRES)
