ENGINEERING DRAWING-I
1. Write the following statement in asingle stroke slanting upper case letters and numerals. Take the height of letters as18mm with an inclination of 150 to the vertical on the right hand side “INDIFFERENT LETTERING SPOILS GOOD DRAWING” 60237
2. Copy the sketch shown in the figure and dimension it adopting aligned system of
dimensioning
3. Draw a common internal tangent to two circles of diameters 60mm & 40mm having their centres 100mm apart.
4. Draw an arc of given radius tangential internally to two given circles. Bigger circle’s radius is30mm and smaller circle’s radius is 20mm and the radius of an arc is 100mm
5. Inscribe a circle in a given regular octagon of side 40mm
6. Draw the three principal views of apoint P laying 40mm behind VP 60mm below HP and 30mm behind the right profile plane.
7. A parallelogram has sides 130mm and 90mm at an included angle of 650. Inscribe an ellipse in the parallelogram. Find the major and minor axes of the ellipse.
8. On amap, the distance between two points is 14cm. the real distance between them is 20 km. draw a diagonal scale to read this map in kilometer and hectometer and to measure upto 25km. show a distance of 17.6 km on this scale.
9. A line AB, 75mm long is inclined at 450 to the HP and 300 to the VP its end B is in the HP and 40mm in front of the VP. Draw its projections.
10. A line AB measuring 70mm has its ends A 15mm in front of VP and 20mm above HP, and the other end B is 60mm in front of VP and 50mm above HP. Draw the projections of the line and find the inclinations of the line with both the reference planes of projection.
11. An equilateral triangular lamina of 30mm side lies with one of its edges on HP such that the surface of the lamina is linclined to the HP at 600. The edge on which it rests is inclined to the VP at 600. Draw the projections.
12. A hexagonal lamina of 30mm sides on HP on one sides. The side which is on HP is perpendicular to the VP and the surface of the lamina is inclined to the HP at 450. The lamina is then rotated through 900 such that the side on HP is parallel to the VP. While the surface is still inclined to the HP at 450. Draw the front view and the top view of the lamina in its final position.
