A RESOLUTION honoring 4-H Clubs and the 4-H Youth Development Program.

WHEREAS, 4-H is a youth development program with the honorable mission of engaging youth to reach their fullest potential while advancing the field of youth education. For more than a century, 4-H has been a staple in this Commonwealth and across the nation, and its many volunteers have changed the lives of myriad children and their families through their diligence, hard work, and expertise; and

WHEREAS, the 4-H Youth Development Program sponsors 4-H Clubs in both rural and urban areas of Kentucky, reaching more than 238,538 youth from ages five to nineteen; offers diverse programs that include agriculture, workforce development, science, engineering, technology, and practical life skills; and contributes to the development of well-rounded youth; and

WHEREAS, the 4-H Youth Development Program has ably demonstrated that it has impacted the lives of this Commonwealth's youth through its more than 20,000 adult volunteers, and because of these good works this honorable body commends 4-H, the 4-H Youth Development Program, and everyone associated with 4-H on this day. Those volunteers who so selflessly sacrifice of their time and all those who so dutifully lead the 4-H clubs of this Commonwealth are applauded for their effort, for the indelible marks they have left upon young people, and for the goodwill and humanity they express by being part of this invaluable organization;

NOW, THEREFORE,

Be it resolved by the House of Representatives of the General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Kentucky:

Section 1. The House of Representatives hereby honors 4-H Clubs and the 4-H Youth Development Program, commends all the volunteers who give so freely of their time and talent to guide the youth of this Commonwealth, and wishes everyone involved with 4-H best of luck as they continue to make an imprint on young people's lives.

Section 2. When the House of Representatives adjourns this day, it does so in honor of 4-H Clubs and the 4-H Youth Development Program.

Section 3. The Clerk of the House of Representatives is directed to transmit a copy of this Resolution to Representative Ryan Quarles for delivery.
