I. WELCOME/SIGN-IN – new member welcome – Jessica Sheely
II. REVIEW/APPROVAL OF PREVIOUS MINUTES Mrs. Erminy approves and Mrs. Texeira seconds
III. SCHOOLWIDE DISCIPLINE PLAN – Mrs. Deatheredge – Plan is based on types and amount of referrals. A teacher from each grade level is on the committee. Each staff member completed a behavior survey to create a plan. Classes follow the Leader in Me Program. Not being enforced as much as it should. Idea- Monday Motivation: Choose students exhibiting a specific behavior to come on NEST. Classes use a clip system or Class Dojo.
Each Behavior will be accompanied by a lesson plan. We will also follow the discipline flow chart. What should I do next and who should I contact?

IV. CURRICULUM CONVERSATIONS
· Kindergarten – Not Present
· First Grade – End of Year – finishing main idea & details and author’s purpose. SS – Wants and Needs, Science Living things and Plants. Math – 3D shapes. May 4 – all classes go the Museum of Science and Discovery. Opinion part of writing.
· Second Grade – Not Present
· Third Grade – Final round of BAS testing, completing portfolios, Science – Living and Non Living things, Animal Classification, Math – Completing unfinished lessons. Real World Projects. SS – Cultures around the world. Surfside Safari Trip Beginning May 1
· Fourth Grade – Reading: We finished our PLC on Point of View. We have been doing reading FSA simulations for the students, both on their computers as well as, paper and pencil. We have been reviewing test strategies and reading skills. Getting ready for testing.Writing: Students are writing personal short stories. Math: Finishing up measurement. Students completed a geometry project. Preparing them for FSA testing through math simulation tests and daily FSA math prep lessons. Science: Rocks and Minerals. Social Studies: Teaching about St. Augustine, as we gear up for our end of the year field trip. Getting ready for Leader in Me leadership day.
· Fifth Grade – Completed Reading FSA last week. Now teaching through science to prepare for FSA. SS – Current events in Scholastic Magazine. Math – Reviewing and preparing for computer testing in FSA. Snorkeling, Bowling and Movie Day, leadership day.
· Principal – Mr. Martin – 6 weeks left. Last push – Leadership Day and Volunteer Breakfast May 12. Mayor of Weston formally declared it Eagle Point Leadership day for the city of Weston. Everyone is doing really well with testing. Two more weeks of assessment.
· P.T.A. – New President for next year. Completed the transition for next year. Jacqui Murray will be president. $20,000 from fundraising will be used for educational resources. Safety – Documented pictures of students and parents jaywalking in front of cars. Hoping for change in safety - city to put slow down, safety first etc.
V. NEW BUSINESS FROM MEMBERS – Mathnasium – breakfast provided during teacher appreciation. Car Tags given for next year. Summer Flyer for parents.
VI. FOUNDATION – Year books will be distributed May 16 & 19. Fifth Grade Signing party
VII. ADJOURN – Mrs. Yanes makes a move to adjourn and Mrs. Iser seconds the motion.
