Irrigation Technician and Spray Technician Positions Available
Lochinvar Golf Club is seekinga qualified, highly motivated, teamorientedindividual for their Irrigation and Spray Technician positions. Lochinvar Golf Club is a Jack Nicklaus Signature course that was established in 1981 and is an exclusively private golfing facility. Lochinvar consists of Bermuda rough and fairways, Zoysia tees, and Champion ultradwarf greens. We are looking for a motivated team oriented individuals that are looking for an opportunity to develop their turfgrass and managerial skills.
Qualifications:
- A 2 or 4 year degree or certificate in Turfgrass Management.
- Ability to obtain Texas pesticide licensewithin the firstthree months of employment.
- Havebasic knowledge of pesticide and fertilizer usage, soil conditioners and alternative methods of plant health management.
- Ability to diagnose turfgrass disease and nutrient deficiencies.
- Strong interpersonal skills to communicate.
- Dedication to improving multi-tasking skills, personal skills and course advancement.
- Strong problem solving skills.
- Must be a motivated individual with goals of advancing in the industry.
- Willingness to grow and developas an individual, a leader, and a team player.
- WARM SEASON TURF EXPERIENCE IS NOT REQUIRED.
Irrigation Technician Duties/Responsibilities:
- Assist in daily course operations (mowing, spraying, fertilizing, hand-watering, etc…).
- Operates irrigation system, repairs the irrigation system, pipes, and irrigation heads as needed.
- Adjusts and level irrigations heads as needed.
- Maintains inventory of irrigation parts and orders required parts.
- Programs the irrigation control systems in accordance to Superintendents and/or Assistant Superintendents guidelines.
- Supervises a small labor force for special projects, and performs other managerial duties as directed by the Superintendent and/or Assistant Superintendents.
Spray Technician Duties/Responsibilities:
- Assist in daily course operations (mowing, spraying, fertilizing, hand-watering, etc…).
- Chemical and fertilizer applications.
- Maintains application equipment.
- Inventory and order products and assist in development in agronomic planning.
- Supervises a small labor force for special projects, and performs other managerial duties as directed by the Superintendent and/or Assistant Superintendents.
Compensation: $12-$14/hr., based on experience
