Purpose of the job:
To develop and lead the GREAT Project, a unique and innovative approach to preventing violence to women and girls in a primary school environment
The principal tasks and responsibilities:
1. / Strategy and Development
- Work with the Children and Young People (CYP) Manager to develop, implement and review a GREAT strategy that increases and enhances current delivery and enables gaps to be met
- Work with the CYP Manager to develop, implement and review an action plan to enable the GREAT strategy to be achieved
2. / Coordination
- Build and maintain positive working relationships with primary schools
- Promote and book GREAT projects and professional twilight sessions with primary schoolsin line with annual targets
- Communicate all project bookings with the CYP and admin team to ensure all projects can be delivered and project packs can be prepared
- Build and maintain relationships with current and potential GREAT licencees and coordinate the purchase of licences
3. / Delivery
- Deliver GREAT to pupils and twilights to professionals training in line with current session plans
- Deliver GREAT training to freelancers and licencees
- Alongside the CYP team, develop and deliver Equation’s Children and Young People training
4. / Monitoring and Quality Assurance
- Collate effective monitoring data
- Complete monitoring and project reports as requested by funders and by the CYP manager
- Quality assure GREAT content to ensure it is current and continues to effectively meet the requirements of stakeholders
- Quality assure GREAT delivery to ensure it continues to effectively meet the requirements of stakeholders
- Communicate best practice, GREAT updates and evaluation data to CYP team and freelancers
6. / Safeguarding
- Consider safeguarding children to be an integral component of the role
- Support primary schools and freelancers with safeguarding children, providing relevant information and resources as per Equation's safeguarding policy
- Support freelancers with safeguarding debriefs as part of an on call rota
7. / Marketing
- Deliver presentations about GREAT to promote the sessions to schools and to promote the licence to potential licencees
- Work with the Campaigns and Marketing Coordinator to develop a GREAT marketing strategy and action plan and undertake assigned actions
7. / Supervision
- Support the CYP Manager with the recruitment of freelancers
- Induct, supervise and appraise freelancers and ensure their targets are SMART and in line with GREAT strategy
- Alongside CYP Coordinators chair quarterly freelance meetings
- Alongside the CYP team develop and deliver freelance enrichment days
8. / Equation
- Contribute to ensuring the GREAT processes are efficient and provide value for money
- Promote Equation resources, services and fundraising opportunities
- Support and assist the other work delivered with children and young people and in the development of Equation as a whole
- Keep up to date with relevant legislation, policy and practice, especially safeguarding and gender issues
- Any other duties as required of you by Equation
