PurposeThis unit standard is for people who are currently working, or who intend to work, in jobs involving the picking and assembling of goods in a food and related products warehouse for dispatch to customers.
People credited with this unit standard are able to: demonstrate knowledge of product labelling and storage systems; pick and stack goods in a food and related products warehouse; and assemble goods for dispatch to customers.

Elements and performance criteria
Element 1
Demonstrate knowledge of product labelling and storage systems.
Performance criteria
1.1The product labelling system is described in terms of the product information and dating system.
1.2The product storage system is described in terms of stock rotation, the segregation of seconds and expired stock, and the location and retrieval of stock.
1.3The product storage system is described in terms of the need to maintain product quality, and the requirements of the company quality assurance policies and procedures.
Element 2
Pick and stack goods in a food and related products warehouse.
Performance criteria
2.1Goods are picked in accordance with the picklist.
2.2Goods are picked and stacked in accordance with the need to maintain the quality of the goods, and with the drop sequence.
2.3Goods are picked and stacked, and out of stock shortfalls handled, in accordance with the company operating procedures.
2.4Goods are picked and stacked in accordance with the company safety policies and procedures.
2.5Goods are picked and stacked in accordance with the company order and delivery throughput requirements.
Element 3
Assemble goods for dispatch to customers.
Performance criteria
3.1Picked goods are assembled and stacked in accordance with dispatch instructions.
3.2Picked goods are wrapped and labelled in accordance with the company operating procedures.
3.3Picked goods are assembled, and wrapped in accordance with the company safety policies and procedures.
3.4Picked goods are assembled, and wrapped in accordance with the company order and delivery throughput requirements.
Please note
Providers must be accredited by the Qualifications Authority, or an inter-institutional body with delegated authority for quality assurance, before they can report credits from assessment against unit standards or deliver courses of study leading to that assessment.
Industry Training Organisations must be accredited by the Qualifications Authority before they can register credits from assessment against unit standards.
Accredited providers and Industry Training Organisations assessing against unit standards must engage with the moderation system that applies to those standards.
