Top News and Questions
Well, the Summer League has begun! A time to see if women and men can coexist on the basketball court. Every summer when the co-ed season begins I think back to my days in high school. While it was a co-ed public high school, gym class was separated into boys and girls. So in the Spring and Fall when it rained and we were forced to do things inside, we were all excited. Why? Because for us guys, that meant hanging out with the ladies. However, as the ladies would have probably attested, it was also a great opportunity for us fellows to fall on our @#!#$&@!@!#’s in an attempt to impress the ladies in gym class. On an unrelated note, you ever try to impress someone playing German Dodge ball? It is not that easy.
On to the games!

Game of the Week – Blues vs. Angels
The Blues look to be a team to be reckoned with, sending out superstars like Nelson, Beville and Conboy. However, the Angels with Wilkinson and others proved to be quite the challenge. The Blues stormed out to an early lead but the Angels fought back and had the game tied with about 12 minutes to go. The last 12 minutes though were a blur for the Angels as they got outscored by 13 points as the Blues pulled away for the 52 to 39 victory. Dwayne Nelson scored 18 while Father Drew added 16 and Dick Beville had 8. For the Angels, Rumril had 12 and Wilkinson had 9.
