Directions for Bus Drivers

  1. To Drop Off(See – Bus Route Map – attached) only stay on the streets marked with an arrow. DO NOT go where the 'X's' are! If you go to the garage door at the loading dock there is no way to back out if someone snuggles up behind you. No way to turn around and get out. You could be trapped and it could be years before you see your family again.
  2. You have to come in from Carpenter St and take North Campus Drive. Once you turn onto North Campus Driveyou will see parking lots on your right and left. Follow map from that point. Take the circle BEFORE the Wilson Building. This is important. You can get stuck if you go past the loop which will be on your left.
  3. Unload at theloopby the Wilson Building. You will have to walk yourequipmentinto the back doors by the construction site which would be the normal way you would enter (ifyou'vebeen here before). There is plenty of room to do this. It is the quickest and shortest way to the rooms where your group will be playing.
  4. With all this going on, if possible, it might be a good idea to leave a few extra minutes early to get to where you need to go. See attached 'Jazz Festival Schedule' to make sure you know your room and time.
  5. If that wasn't enough here's the real fun part.Thebuses have towaitin a different area on the West campus (by Rt.55) until needed for pick up. (Check out the attached 'Bus Directions to Tech Park'). Buses need to exit after load-in: (1) Go back out the way you came in and MAKE A LEFT ON CARPENTER ST, (2) About 500 feet make left at first light , (3) Go about a quarter mile and make a right onto 322 (west), (4) go West on 322 for about a mile and a half until you see Tech Park on you right. The bus can park there until summoned by the band director to return for pickup. Allow 10-15 minutes between calling bus and arrival for load out. Follow same routine as original drop-off (Step #2) to make pick up.

This seems like a lot and itprobablyis, but with this information things should move pretty smoothy. Please have contact with your driver who will be about 2 miles away from the playing site.
