The Mayor’s Awards

Do you know someone who makes an outstanding contribution to the life of the Royal Borough and has added significantly to the quality of life for those they help?

Perhaps they’ve made their mark working with a voluntary organisation or through some other community activity, paid or unpaid.

If this sounds like someone you know, then now’s the time to put them forward for a Mayor’s Award. All nominations for awards in 2017-2018 must be submitted at latest by Monday 22nd January, 2018.

Here are the six easy steps you need to follow if you want to put someone forward for an Award.

The information you give will be treated as confidential, but parts may be included in the citation and certificate presented to successful nominees.

The person you nominate does not have to live in the Royal Borough. It may be that they work here, come in to the borough to do voluntary work, or have lived here in the past and are nominated for the contribution they made to borough life at that time.

A nominee should not have received a national honour for the work they are being nominated for, although they may have received an honour in another capacity.

There will be no posthumous awards.

For further copies of this form please telephone 020 7361 3659. It is regretted that individual nominations cannot be discussed. The Mayor will appoint a Panel to consider all nominations and the Panel will recommend to the Mayor those who, the Panel believes, should receive awards. The identity of the Panel members will not be made publicly known and the Council will not enter in to discussions on the Panel’s recommendations or the Mayor’s decisions. All nominations will be carefully considered.
