    Jo Karr Tedder, President of Central Texas Water Coalition, give a talk on the water issues facing the Texas Hill Country titled "Praying for Rain, but planning for Drought." The dire outlook for Highland Lakes water resources during our ongoing drought was described, and explained through some rather stunning statistics. We were all encouraged to promote long-term solutions through:
  • Education -- becoming familiar with the nature of our water situation, separating fact from political and lobbyist posturing;
  • Fair water pricing -- promoting conservation by making waste costly to interests currently paying only a tiny fraction of water's true value;
  • Contacting our elected (and appointed officials) to determine their position in the matter and
  • Supporting theCTWC!
