4-H FASHION REVUE & IMPRESSIVE DRESS CONTEST

The Woods County 4-H Fashion Revue and Impressive Dress Contest will be held at the Freedom High School AuditoriumSunday, March 26 at 2:00 p.m. Apractice will take place the same afternoon at 1:30 p.m. This practice will help our younger members to overcome fright and answer their questions prior to the actual contest that afternoon. 4-H members may enter a maximum of 5 classes between Fashion Review & Impressive Dress. Entry forms may duplicated as you need and are due Wednesday, March 22nd by 5:00 pm.
WOODS COUNTY 4-H FASHION REVUE
JUNIOR OR BEGINNER - Ages 9 - 11
Chef’s apron or work apron
Skirt or shorts, or pants with elastic waistband
Simple two-piece active sportswear with no collars and no set-in sleeves
INTERMEDIATE - Ages 12 - 14
Bathrobe
Pull-on top & coordinating bottom, with elastic waist (shorts, pants or skirt)
Shorts, pants, skirt or culottes with waistband
One-piece dress or jumpsuit
Two-piece garment (using button, buttonholes or zipper)
SENIOR OR ADVANCED - Ages 15 - 19
Two-piece ensemble, using one advanced technique
Lined skirt, pants or jacket
Unlined raincoat, poncho or slicker using fabric suitable for rainwear such as rip-stop nylon or
“Scotch guard” poplin
Unlined garment
Coat, lined or unlined
Lined suit or dress
Special occasion garment (prom dress, English riding clothes, etc.)
Garments will be judged on 4-H members’ over-all appearance (posture, poise, complexion, hair) and outfit (style, fit, color, texture, accessories) 50 points and construction (seams, hems, buttonholes)– 50 points
WOODS COUNTY IMPRESSIVE DRESS CATEGORIES
Junior or Senior Division – please note on entry form
Again this year, there will be a boys division and girls division. The boys and girls divisions will be judged together for overall champion. New this year -Garments worn during the contest must be items already owned or can be borrowed; no newly purchased garments.
CLASS I - CASUAL WEAR - Garments to wear to school, fairs, rodeos, dates, movies,
spectator sports, shopping., etc.
CLASS II - ACTIVE SPORTSWEAR - Garments to wear to play tennis, skiing, jogging, etc.
CLASS III - DRESS WEAR - Garments to wear to weddings,parties,church, job/college interviews
CLASS IV - FORMAL WEAR -Garments to wear to formal events or other special occasions.
All junior (12 & under) and senior (13 over) 4-H members (boys and girls) may participate. Senior members will be asked one question pertaining to their garment by the judge(s).
Please encourage your older 4-H'ers to help narrate the program. A space is provided for the members to check on the entry form. If you have questions, please call us at the Extension Office.
