Dear: ......
Thank you for your recent interest in our Pre-School.
We are a small, friendly group and feel sure that your child will have fun and benefit from their time with us.
We are open Monday to Friday and welcome children aged between 2 years and 4+ . Children are usually eligible for the 15 hours government funding the term after their 3rd Birthday. (We do accept 2 year olds depending upon availability of spaces).
Our Pre-School is open 9.00am – 3.00pm. You may book your child in for 3 or 6 hours per day. Session times are 9.00am-12.00pm, 12.00pm-3.00pm or 9.00am-3.00pm (subject to availability of hours). Fees are currently charged at an hourly rate of £4.50 per hour for our 3 year olds and £5.25 per hour for 2 year olds. Upon acceptance of a space a £10.00 administration fee is payable within 5 working days for funded children. This will be returned to you one month after your child commences their place with us. Should your child not start with us, the fee will not be returned and will be used towards administration costs incurred. For all fee paying spaces, a deposit of one month’s fees is payable within 5 days of acceptance. This money will be taken from your first month’s fees and all future payments must be paid on or before the 1st of the month in advance.
PLEASE NOTE: Children collected late will incur a £10.00 fine for every 10 minutes or part of.
Lunch is at 12.00 – 12.30pm, if you require your child to stay during this time, please supply them with a packed lunch and drink. We recommend supplying an ice pack in the lunch box to help keep food fresh. We do have a healthy eating policy and urge you not to include sweets or chocolate.
We also run a breakfast and after school club, offering you an affordable day care service if you are working, or intend to return to work. The breakfast club opens at 7.45am and afterschool club closes at 5.00pm.
We have a Pre-School Manager, Deputy and six Pre-School Assistants along with a committee of parent members. We would like to urge you to join our committee, helping to organise events, raise funds and have valued input into our setting. We are a charitable organisation, so fund raising is an important part of our existence. Committee meetings are held approximately one evening bi monthly and last approximately 1-2 hours.
On joining, your child will be placed with a key person. Our daily routine includes self-registration, snack bar which encourages self-help skills, weather permitting free flow play and story time along with singing, music and dance.
We hold a sports day every year, various open days during term time, celebrate festivals from various cultures and have lots of fun over the Christmas Season.
We are OFSTED inspected and received a judgement of Good with elements of Outstanding in Safeguarding and 5 other areas. You can take a look at the report on
A varied daily plan is followed using the Early Years Foundation Stage Document which covers all seven areas of learning.

Physical Development
Personal, Social and Emotional Development

Expressive arts and design
The children progress along a set of learning strands, which they need to learn during their life from birth to 5 years. This helps them to achieve the Early Learning Goals in their first year of school. For further information on the EYFS please go to: or
Important Information
In the case of sickness and/or diarrhoea we do ask you to keep your child at home for 48hoursafter the last attack.
Long hair should be tied back to prevent accidents or head lice. Earrings, if worn, should be studs, again to prevent accidents. We have a school uniform which is compulsory to wear as we are within a school environment; this helps our children to become easily identifiable from the other school children. Please ensure that you name any removable items of clothing.
Pre-School sweatshirts available from Pre-School at £9.00 each.
Pre-School polo shirts available from Pre-School at £6.50 each.
Grey trousers or skirts, available at various retail outlets.
Summer clothing, yellow summer dresses/grey shorts.
Safeguarding Children
As part of our daily routine, we observe children in their play. We must advise you that should we see or hear anything that could be of concern, such as bruising, marking, unusual language from a child or changes in behaviour, that we will record such information in our Safeguarding file. If necessary, we will contact Children’s Services for advice.
Non-Funded Children
Unfortunately, if your child is away on holiday during term time or sick, we do still require payment of fees. If you claim tax credits, you may be eligible to claim up to 80% of your childcare costs.
Funded Children
Government funding is available from 3 years of age subject to the cut off dates, (usually the term after the child’s third birthday).
Your child will be entitled to a maximum of 15 hours funding per week. Any extra hours are subject to availability and must be paid for. Unfortunately, if your child is away on holiday during term time or sick, we still require payment of additional fees and, funding is non transferable.
All fees will be invoiced on a monthly basis, payable in advance (monthly). Payment methods accepted are Cheque (£2.00 admin charge) and internet bank transfer.
