What is a declension?
What is a dictionary entry for a noun? Each of our "prop" lists will use what we call "dictionary entries". For nouns, that means they will be listed in this order: puella, -ae, f. - girl; carrus, -i, m. - cart; verbum, -i, n. - word.
1. ______: puella, carrus, verbum
2. ______: -ae, -i, -i
3. ______: f. , m., n.
4. ______: girl, cart, word
At this point, review the endings for the First and Second Declension Nouns in the Appendix /Noun/Case Endings.
Third Declension
You will recall that nouns of the first and second declensions drop the genitive singular ending to find the noun stem.
