NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN THAT on Tuesday, February9, 2016, in Grays Harbor County, State of Washington, there will be a Special Election for submission to the qualified voters the following:
Aberdeen School District No. 5 -two-year excess property tax levy for maintenance and operations
Hoquiam School District No. 28 –two-year excess property tax levy for maintenance and operations
North Beach School District No. 64 –two-year excess property tax levy for maintenance and operations
McCleary School District No. 65- two-year excess property tax levy for maintenance and operations
Montesano School District No. 66 – four-year excess property tax levy for maintenance and operations
Elma School District No. 68 - two-year excess property tax levy for maintenance and operations
Lake Quinault School District No. 97 - two-year excess property tax levy for maintenance and operations
Cosmopolis School District No. 99 - two-year excess property tax levy for maintenance and operations
Cosmopolis School District No. 99 – General obligation bonds to renovate Cosmopolis school, $2,500,000
Wishkah School District No. 117 - two-year excess property tax levy for maintenance and operations
Mary M Knight School District No. 311 - two-year excess property tax levy for maintenance and operations
Oakville School District No. 400 - two-year excess property tax levy for maintenance and operations
Rochester School District No. 401 - four-year excess property tax levy for maintenance and operations
Fire Protection District No. 4 – one-year emergency medical services levy
Voter Registration Deadlines:
January 11, 2016 – Deadline for new mail and online voter registrations and transfers
Voters currently registered must update their registration, including change of address, by this date.
February 1, 2016 – Last day for in-person voter registration at the county auditor’s office for the February election
February 9, 2016 – February Special Election Day
Registering to Vote:
- By mail – print a form from or obtain a form from the Auditor’s Office (360-964-1556)
- In person – In the County Auditor’s Office at 100 W Broadway, Ste. 2, Montesano, WA 98563

Ballots Mailed:
Ballots will be mailed to all active registered voters in participating districts onJanuary 20, 2016
Voters may obtain a replacement ballot by calling the Auditor’s Office at 360-964-1556.

24-hour drop-boxes will be available starting January 20, 2016 through Election Day at 8 p.m. at:

Grays Harbor County Canvassing Board:
Grays Harbor County Canvassing Board, or representatives, will convene Tuesday, January25, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. and will continue each day until 4:00 p.m. for the purpose of determining the status of special ballots and challenged ballots for the Special Election. These meetings will continue until certification of the election on February 19, 2016. They will meet at the County Elections Building, 121 W Spruce, in Montesano, WA.
Grays Harbor County Canvassing Board will hold a public meeting at 10:30a.m., February 19, 2016, at the Grays Harbor County Auditor’s office, located in the County Elections Building, 121 W Spruce, Montesano, WA, to certify the results of the 2016February Special Election.
Logic and Accuracy Vote Tallying Test
The official L&A test will be held on Friday, January 13, 2016 at 10:30 a.m., pursuant to WAC 434-333-085 thru 434-333-095.The testing and certification will take place in the Grays Harbor County Elections Building, 121 W Spruce, Montesano, WA
