Jonno: December 2009 – Résumé
Hello Iris, this is perhaps a strange Résumé, but I appreciate that you want to know who I am, and not a list of distinguished achievements, so here goes…
Name: John Charles Morris
Aka: Jonno
Age: 55
DoB: 11.4.1954
Married: 3 times, the last to a Cantonese girlnamed ‘Siu Ying’ 1-year ago
Born: Stafford, England
Lives: Foshan City District, China
Status: Independent thinker
Birth:
I was born in Midlands UK, and grew up on a farm. After school I was always helping the family business, so evenings and week-ends were never for pleasure.
Adolescence:
I hated school, finding it so stupid and boring; the teachers were really simple thinkers who never questioned anything.
I was a hippy at age 12, and probably still retain a lot of that era within me. My favourite all time musician is Grace Slick, and instead of following the masses from reincarnation through Jefferson Airplane, Jefferson Starship, and Starship + Grace’s solo career, I regressed and favour The Great Society.
I have always had a keen ear for music and the emotions it brings. It became normal for me to be the very first person to find a particular band interesting – hence I got into Pattie Smith and Blonde before they became famous.
I have several guitars, my favourite being an old Eco 12 string with electric pick-ups. I recently contacted the Italian manufacturer, and have since found out it was created in 1962, and was one of only 12 ever made. They asked me for pictures, and want me to take it back to their factory for refurbishment! I simply enjoy playing it, and yes; it is here in China with me.
I also spent my spare time making technical designs for various parts of cars – some of which have since been officially invented by others and gone into production. I find this amusing!
Student years:
I entered college and became extremely good at table football. I gave up going to classes as they were also very stupid – I had expected them to have more open minds, but apparently not.
Working Life:
I tried many professions, and originally found work as a tyre fitter. I did the on-call stuff and worked my butt-off for a pittance. After 4-years I started by own company, which included service that was not at that time available anywhere else (On-site repairs, radio controlled via a Pye vale set, and gave total customer support for their needs at the time).
