I AM’s Objectives
1. Promote diversity, equity and inclusion within the greater Kent State community.
a. “Who am I?” Initiative
2. Assist with marketing and facilitating diversity events and initiatives at the Kent State campuses.
3. Defining Diversity, Equity & Inclusion, presented by the I AM Committee upon request.
Opportunities available to students who join the I AM Committee
· Develop understanding of personal diversity.
o “Who am I?”
§ Question yourself and find out who you really are because in order to understand the diversity of others we must understand our own diversity.
· Develop skills in business, marketing, communications and networking.
· Broaden understanding of socioeconomic levels, opinions, abilities, experiences, cultures, races, ethnicities, genders, gender identities and expressions, national origins, religions, languages, appearances, personalities and many other types of human distinctions between individuals and groups.
· Attend and facilitate diversity events and initiatives at the Kent campuses.
· Work with Kent State staff and faculty.
· Apply for internships with Division of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion.
o Possibility of other KSU Depts. and Divisions offering internships as well.
