What’s up with Enrollment Management?
At the end of the 2007 academic year the Enrollment Management committees submitted their finding and recommendations from their years work. One of the recommendations was to develop a “Marketing Committee”. President Beck wholeheartedly supported the idea and in the late Fall the Marketing Committee was born. Our very own, Doug Maughan, CSI’s Public Relations Officer was asked to serve as the committee chair. The committee membership consists of the Instructional Deans, Dean of Student Services, and the Dean of Students. Additional committee members from the college’s faculty and staff were also asked to participate.
The purpose of the Marketing Committee is to evaluate the college’s marketing strategies and make changes as needed in order to promote the college and its services. Duties to be carried out by the committee include: developing an effective marketing plan, promoting the college’s image, assisting the Public Information Officer with advertising, marketing, promotional endeavors, and making recommendations regarding advertisements and marketing strategies.
The committee met at least bi-weekly throughout the year, working on many items including a marketing plan and a marketing calendar. At some point in the near future, the marketing calendar will be on the (also being developed) enrollment management webpage. The marketing calendar will list all major marketing efforts on campus; where they are located, who to contact, and a brief description of the event. The calendar will help coordinate the scheduling effort of others who are planning campus events and help prospective students find the events appropriate to their field of interest.
The committee is proud to offer departments and programs financial assistance with their marketing efforts. Few departments have marketing budgets resulting in all sorts of creative materials, all nicely done but all quite different. The marketing committee will pay for design assistance and the production of tabletop displays and program brochures. Not only will this free up departmental budgets and staff time, it gives us the unique opportunity to develop a common look and feel for all of CSI’s promotional material. Todd Schwarz is coordinating this program so if your department is interested in a new look give him a call at extension 6325.

Picks from the Shelf
I highly recommend the DVD Into the Wild. Based on the true story of Christopher McCandless and his journey to Alaska’s wilderness you will find yourself amazed at the personal journey this young man embarks on. If you know nothing about this story you are in for quite a surprise. Sean Penn, director, has created a compelling screenplay from the book of the same name. The soundtrack is phenomenol. Ten years in the making and it is well worth the wait. – Ann Keane
Remember: If you have a favorite book, movie or CD from our very own CSI library you would like to recommend to your co-workers, let me know about it. You don’t need to be a professional critic. All you need is two to four sentences giving info on why you think it is something folks might want to spend their time on. – Ann Keane, PACE newsletter editor, ext. 6530,

Hi I am Brad Craig. I was born right here in Twin. My family moved to Hailey, Idaho in 1979 where I grew up, got married and began a small family. My wife, Cristal, and I along with my sons Alex, Daniel and Ericke lived briefly in Fairfield, Idaho before moving back to Twin Falls in 1990. In 1991 I took over ownership of Idaho Tractor Salvage from my father and ran that for 13 years. In January of 2001, I completely changed gears and began attending classes at CSI with the intention of obtaining an AAS in computer support. I finally received this degree in June of 2005. During that time period we closed Idaho Tractor Salvage and moved. I also began working with the CSI helpdesk staff as an intern and later as a work study. In February of 2005 I started work part-time as one of the Aspen 144 lab technicians under the education department. At present I am now employed full time within the ITS department.
