Received in a prior email:
X12 7030 version
X12 will be wrapping up their public comments for version 7030 on the named HIPAA guides. We could have someone come in and do an overview of the changes. Would need to determine the speaker.
Prior Authorization (278 transaction)
WEDI has created a special group to tackle the business issues on why this transaction is so underutilized but necessary to everyday business.Heather McComas of the AMA (Chicago office)is one of the co-chairs, she is a great speaker and may be willing to share lessons learned so far and solicit additional feedback from the audience.
CMS Medicare SSNRI initiative
This topic should draw a great many providers. Medicare is replacing the HIC# with MBI (Medicare Beneficiary Identifier) in 2018 which has a significant impact on provider community.
It would be great to getDr. Monica Kay from CMSto speak on this but not sure if feasible. (or someone else from CMS)
Other
We are in need of a co-chair. Melissa Bruechert has stepped down. Katie has a new position that is taking her out of the EDI realm so she will be stepping down in the near future also. Greg Margrett is assisting in this roll until new co-chairs can be found.
As a thank you, co-chairs receive a free conference registration to both the Spring and Fall HIPAA COW Conferences. They also are invited to join the Board for dinner the night before the conferences.
If anyone is interested in being a co-chair, please contact Katie () or Wendy ().
