WAIKATO TECHNICAL PANEL

REPORT TO BOARD MEETING, 11 January 2010

Arising from the last Board Meeting:

John Pike: At the Long Distant Meet, the comment made by John was not constructive and not in good taste. However, as Meet Director, I chose to ignore the comment as I did not believe any gain could be made from any discussion with John and the Meet needed to start without any unnecessary delays.

I cannot see any reason for writing a letter of reprimand or request for an apology as this may just create a “storm in a teacup” situation.

I suggest that the incident just be recorded in case another such incident occurs. If such outbursts become a frequent occurrence then action could be taken.

New Business: AOD printer

Frequently, at Meets, the AOD printer switches itself off. This can become frustrating for the AOD operator and the Referee. The reason for this happening could be that it is near the end of its life.

Suggestion: A replacement be purchased or service and maintenance be sought for the printer.
