Deed of Gift

1. Subject to the following terms and conditions, I, ______, (hereinafter known as the DONOR), give, donate, and convey to Humanities DC for unlimited use, the rights and ownership associated with the materials listed below.

2. Title to the above materials shall pass to HUMANITIES DC upon the DONOR’s physical or electronic delivery to HUMANITIES DC.

3. After delivery is complete, the above materials shall be maintained according to accepted archival standards, cataloged as part of the DC Digital Museum Collection, and made widely available to researchers and the general public. HUMANITIES DC recommends that Donor’s gift be made without restrictions, however, any limits to access and use of these materials must be detailed below.

4. Materials which have been restricted from access shall be reviewed by the HUMANITIES DC from time to time and any materials which, because of the passage of time or other circumstances no longer require such restrictions, shall be opened to public access.

5. Subject to the restrictions listed above, HUMANITIES DC may dispose of or delete any of the materials deemed unnecessary or outside the scope of the collection, now or in the future.

6. The DONOR herein certifies that he/she is the lawful owner of the Materials and has absolute authority to, and hereby does, transfer ownership of all right, title, and interest to HUMANITIES DC.
