Section 2 – Project Description
Three River Communications, LLC. (TRC), a wholly owned subsidiary of Three River Telephone Company proposes to provide broadband and voice service to a rural area north of Ainsworth, NE. by constructing a Fiber to the Premises (FTTP) distribution system TRC currently possesses statewide CLEC authority and ETC status in Nebraska and currently provides a full range of Broadband and Voice services in the incorporated area of Ainsworth. TRC intends to utilize existing fiber optic cable connections from the Ainsworth TRC Central Office building for connection of the proposed service expansion to its existing Tier 1 router/internet connections in Lynch, Nebraska.
The FTTP system that will be deployed is capable of delivering up to 75 Mbps service in the downstream direction and 37.5 Mbps service in the upstream direction plus voice services. The system is expandable and can be adjusted to meet any capacity, growth or increasing data speed needs of all subscribers requesting service in the area. The FTTP system to be deployed can exceed the minimum speed standards of 4 Mbps downstream and 1 Mbps upstream as defined by the Commission.

Three River Telephone Company, parent company of Three River Communications, LLC has provided telecommunications services within its certificated exchange area since 1955. Three River Communications has provided voice and data services in the Ainsworth area since 2002. As long-time providers of telecommunications services in the region, should Three River Communications, LLC. be awarded funding, it will commit to providing voice & data services to the proposed service area of rural Ainsworth for a minimum of 5 years.

Three River Telephone Company and Three River Communications have provided in the past, and will continue to provide in the future, data to the Commissions’ State Broadband Data & Development program.
