NOTES
When I walked into class, Mr. Frost was wearing an alligator hat for “Crazy Hat” day, so amazing! When I was putting my things in my cubby, I realized there was Halloween music playing. I heard Thriller, Ghostbusters, and Monster Mash. Mr. Frost asked Tess if she knew the Thriller dance, and before Tess could answer, Mr. Frost was doing the Thriller dance moves. It was funny. The packet today we had to work on was called Boo! Happy Halloween. This is the packet we work on by ourselves or with partners in the morning. Today, we worked by ourselves. The packet talks about how Halloween got its name and about trick or treating. While we were working on our packets, we had a fire drill. Our class goes through the back door and meets at the swings and stays there until the fire drill is over. After the fire drill was over, we went inside and it was time for Elliot to tell us about his current events that he was reporting on. It was on South Carolina. They had a big hurricane that flooded their towns. I feel bad for South Carolina because they had a flood and their cars and houses might have been ruined by water. After Elliot was done reporting, we had to go right to gym. In gym, we did scooter soccer. Scooter soccer is when you sit on a scooter and use your feet to kick the ball into the net. Alyssa and I got hurt, but it was fun. We were ok, the ball just hit us in the face.
We went back to class and Mr. Frost told us that Ethan’s personality was coming out and that he’s a nice friend and he’s able to be silent, so he decided Ethan was going to be Star Student. Ethan gets to take Marty the Moose home for the weekend which means he will have him for Halloween. I was happy for him because he is a good friend to everyone and it would be fun to go trick or treating with Marty the Moose. I wonder if Ethan will dress him up. Then we watched a skeleton video for a skeleton packet we were doing. The skeleton packet told us what bones are made out of and how many bones we have in our body, and also told us about animals’ bones too. Next we went to recess. The weather was warm out. I played with my Halloween bear I brought in to school. Then when recess was over, we went to lunch. Miss Patasius picked a Shine ticket raffle winner and Jack from Mrs. Fearon’s room won. Then we returned to class and we did a project building a skeleton out of paper. It was really cool and fun. While we were working on this, my Mom came in with a treat for me to share with the class. Mr. Frost told me I could pass out my chocolate covered pretzels during the skeleton project. Everyone liked the treat. Mr. Frost then read us a book called Hallo-Weener. The book was about a dog that saved his friends from two cats. We were then doing Readers’ Theater with the book. We had two groups and acted out the book with scripts and parts. I was Cat Number one. The first group that acted did a really good job. After we were finished acting in our groups, we did a multiplication haunted house paper. Then it was dismissal and we packed up and went home. Everyone was excited for the end of the day because it was going to be Halloween tomorrow.
