JOB POSTING – Product Data Specialist
The Product Data Specialist is responsible for developing and documenting product metadata descriptions, standards, policies, procedures and maintaining accurate product data, pricing, costing and information in our Eclipse ERP system.
Position Summary
Develop and implement product pricing strategies including segment strategies for the various markets and channels
Set sale pricing policies and procedures with management and update product classifications and groups
Take initiative in identifying and resolving issues around pricing and margin, and communicate any opportunities to General Manager
Establish a system of documentation, communication and review of internal and external comparative price data, including competitive market benchmarking
Work collaboratively as a team member and with outside parties on Purchasing, Sales, IT and Accounting matters
Reach out to vendors seeking timely and accurate pricing and product information
Create various reports such as daily trend report, ad hoc reports, period end reports, for various audiences in the Company
Verify accuracy of Eclipse product records and revise any errors or duplicates
Review all new product records created each day and revise as needed to ensure product information is in company standardized format
Update vendor pricing and costing manually and or by mass loading vendor files into product data warehouse and updating pricing formulas
Special project-related work as requested including process improvements
Required Skills and Abilities
Strong technical acumen and understanding of data management strategies
Proficiency in file organization, transfer, management, storage, formatting, import/exportdata management concepts and practices
Proven ability to manage pricing portfolio for largeinventory with 3-5 years of experience in industrialwholesale pricing
Degree or Business Diploma with a focus on business analytics or supply chain management preferred
Proven ability to think analytically and conceptually with an eye for problem solving
Excellent communication and influencingskills – interpersonal and written
Fully computer savvy with the ability to independently develop new models (MS Excel, MS Access, Eterm, & MS Word), charts and graphs and procedures as necessary
This position reports to the General Manager and may be based in Vancouver (Lower Mainland), Leduc or Saskatoon
