OPTIMISTS METRO AREA YOUTH FOUNDATION SUPPORTING FAMILIES BATTLING CHILDHOOD CANCER GCF FUND / Designated, Expendable / Encourage, solicit, receive and use charitable contributions and the income derived therefrom (even to the point of exhaustion of principal) for supporting families who are battling childhood cancer
GRETNA OPTIMISTS GCF FUND / Designated, Expendable / Encourage, solicit, receive and use charitable contributions and the income derived therefrom (even to the point of exhaustion of principal) for charitable, educational and literary purposes in support of youth and youth activities in the Gretna, Nebraska area
GRETNA CHILDREN’S CHOIR MUSIC EDUCATION GCF FUND / Designated, Expendable / Encourage, solicit, receive and use charitable contributions and the income derived therefrom (even to the point of exhaustion of principal) to promote music educational opportunities to children in the Gretna Community
LITTLE GIANTS FOUNDATION FUND / Designated, Expendable / Encourage, solicit, receive and use charitable contributions and the income derived therefrom (even to the point of exhaustion of principal) for the following purposes:
* To become a voice for those individuals diagnosed with rare forms of Dwarfisms
* To support research, studies and experimental testing that offer life-saving hope
* To connect those who are affected with rare forms of Dwarfisms with each other and to provide vital information and news that can strengthen our fight
* To enhance awareness of rare Dwarfism among the public, private, government, and health insurance parties
* To educate the medical community about Schimke and other rare forms of Dwarfisms to reduce the incidence of misdiagnosis
BRIGHT FUTURE FOUNDATION FUND / Designated, Expendable / Encourage, solicit, receive and use charitable contributions and the income derived therefrom (even to the point of exhaustion of principal) in order to support children and families in need within the Gretna Public School District. These needs can include but are not limited to assistance with monthly bills, groceries, clothing, education, social and athletic support.
GRETNA BAND PARENTS FUND / Designated, Expendable / Encourage, solicit, receive and use charitable contributions and the income derived therefrom (even to the point of exhaustion of principal) in support of the current and future needs of the Gretna Band Parents.
GRETNA HOMETOWN HEROES FUND / Designated, Expendable / Encourage, solicit, receive and use charitable contributions and the income derived therefrom (even to the point of exhaustion of principal) for the following purposes: Purchasing and displaying American Flags and HomeTown Hero Banners to honor current and former Service Men and Women from the Gretna Area; supporting Veteran Education programs including, without limitation, providing speakers and materials to local public schools in the Gretna School District, supporting traveling educational programs such as the traveling Vietnam War Veterans Memorial. Support of current and former Service Men and Women located in the Gretna Community.
MATT’S MUSIC MEMORIAL FUND / Designated, Expendable / Encourage, solicit, receive and use charitable contributions and the income derived therefrom (even to the point of exhaustion of principal) for the current and future needs of the Matthew Lee Alexander Memorial Foundation whose mission is to work with community music programs, including but not limited to public and private schools, homeschool programs, libraries, and private instructors to loan new and refurbished instruments to students who want to participate in these programs but have financial or situational limitations otherwise preventing inclusion.
GRETNA NEIGHBORS FOOD PANTRY FUND / Designated, Expendable / Encourage, solicit, receive and use charitable contributions and the income derived therefrom (even to the point of exhaustion of principal) for the following purposes: To provide food and personal care products to people in need in the Gretna School District and to support the Gretna Neighbors food pantry including paying for maintenance, rent and utilities as needed for the food pantry.
GRETNA VOLUNTEER FIRE DEPARTMENT GCF FUND / Designated, Endowed / Encourage, solicit, and receive charitable contributions, and to utilize the income derived from the investment of such contributions, in support of the current and future needs of the Gretna Volunteer Fire Department. It is the intent, wish and desire of the Donors that if the Gretna Volunteer Fire Department becomes a publically funded organization, that the Fund be dissolved and assets of the Fund be distributed to an Endowed Fund as determined by the GCF Board for civic projects and use in the Gretna area
GRETNA NEIGHBORS ENDOWED GCF FUND / Designated, Endowed / Encourage, solicit, and receive charitable contributions, and to utilize the income derived from the investment of such contributions, in support of the current and future needs of Gretna Neighbors (which provides food and financial assistance to local families who need temporary assistance meeting their basic needs)
GRETNA CHILDREN IN CRISIS FUND / Field of Interest, Endowed / To provide financial support to help address a range of issues affecting children in Gretna, Nebraska, including, but not limited to basic food, shelter, child abuse, and educational and artistic enrichment opportunities
GRETNA SENIOR CITIZEN’S FUND / Field of Interest, Endowed / To provide financial support to help address a range of issues affecting the elderly in Gretna, Nebraska, including but not limited to health, shelter, food and abuse

Fund Definitions

Designated Fund

These funds are used to support a specific program, cause or project such as the Public

Library or Scholarships for High School and College students.

Field of Interest Fund

These funds can be designated to a particular area of charitable interest such as a health care

fund or a fund for the arts.

Expendable Fund

All contributions are considered expendable in nature (i.e. income and principal may be utilized even to the point of exhaustion).

Endowed Fund

These funds ensure that principal will not be spent and can grow over time, providing a source of lasting support.
