We are looking for an enthusiastic and effective person who can help us raise the funds to enable us to create a New Learning Centre at our 55 acre site in the heart of Hampshire’s South Downs National Park. Working with a leading sustainable Architect’s Practice we plan to transform an existing building into a leading example of eco-renovation.

We are an independent education and learning centre, a beacon for sustainability and an award-winning social enterprise. We are a registered charity and self-financing from our own activities. We offer practical, creative and achievable ways in which people can make their lives healthier, greener and more ethical.

The Sustainability Centre aims to educate, enable and inspire people from all walks of life to make positive changes to the way they live and work. As part of this vision we aim to manage our land, our charity and our businesses as working examples of sustainability.

We work with schools and community groups; we provide an inspiring outdoor learning programme for young people who need encouragement and support in their lives; and we lend our facilities to provide meeting places for health, environmental and other like-minded groups.

With over 3,000 pupil visits via our schools programme and over 7,800 people visiting and staying with us last year, we are growing and need to expand our facilities to support that growth.

We reach a broad range of people spanning a wide age range from toddlers to pensioners, including city dwellers and those who live nearby in rural villages and market towns.

This is a full-time role, reporting to the Chief Executive and Board of Trustees. Enthusiastic and creative, you will need to achieve challenging fundraising targets to generate significant contributions to support the Trust’s ambitions.

Our ideal candidate will be appropriately qualified and experienced with a proven track record in developing funding bids to Charitable Trusts and Foundations. Experience of major donors and legacy giving would be an advantage.

You will need to demonstrate excellent relationship, development and communication skills and be a self-starter with the ability to motivate and inspire others.

We may also consider exceptional candidates who are willing to undertake professional fundraising training.

Some understanding, experience or keen interest in wildlife, sustainability, outdoor education and the environment would be advantageous.
