Register for Your Course
1. Go to the Internet. Make sure your speakers or headphones are on so you can hear sound from the computer. Go to this website: http://www.usalearns.org/class
2. If this is your first time on the website, in the new window that comes up, click on Register Now!.
3. On the next screen, enter your information.
Your Teacher’s Last Name = Larue
Your Class Password = practice1
Important: Write down the information above exactly as you entered it on the picture below so you won’t forget what you typed.
4. Then click on the bottom right of the screen.
(If you have problems registering, please see your teacher.)
Congratulations! You are now a registered Metro North Online Academy learner.
Beginning your class
1. Click Begin my class to begin.
Using Help
You can use Help on any screen within U.S.A. Learns when you need help with what to do next.
Either click the word Help or click at the top right of the screen to open help.
1. Click on the Help at the top right.
2. Watch the video in the new window that comes up. Click red Close button on top right when finished.
Exiting U.S.A. Learns
1. To exit U.S.A. Learns, click on the red Quit button on the top right of the screen.
2. Then click the red X on the top right of the next screen to close it.
Signing in
1. Go to the www.usalearns.org/class website (make sure you include /class at the end of the website address (if you don’t, you won’t get credit for your work. Click on Sign In at the bottom.
2. Enter your E-mail Address and Password exactly as you entered them when you registered. (See your teacher if you need help.)

Student Completion Policy
Students enrolled in Metro North Online Academy to study English from home on the www.usalearns.org/class website are expected to be actively working towards their goals by regularly completing units, 2 units or more, with a score of 80% or higher for each unit, from home each week.
If you don’t complete 2 units or more from home each week, you will meet with your instructor to create a completion plan to help you meet this standard. Students unable to follow this plan will be dropped from the class after 4 weeks of not completing at least 2 units each week with a score of 80% or higher for each unit. (Each unit takes most students about 1 hour to complete.)
If you are dropped from the U.S.A. Learns class by your instructor, you will need to wait for a period of at least one full quarter before you may continue with the U.S.A. Learns class again. Reentry will be determined by instructors.
Tell your instructor if you have to leave the U.S.A. Learns course and they will discuss your options with you.
