Member Host Application

Criteria to become a Member Host:

§  Have at least one person approved as a C-WAGS Advocate who will be in attendance at your trial.

§  Support C-WAGS vision that trials are not all about competing with others, but about competing with one’s self to do better, to build a better relationship, to reach and exceed one’s own goals.

§  Be familiar with and support the rules as written.

§  Have resources necessary to conduct the trial - including people, location and equipment, proof of insurance for events.

Responsibilities

Trial hosts are expected:

§  To be friendly and respectful to judges, spectators, and exhibitors.

§  To ensure that trials are run according to C-WAGS guidelines and procedures

§  Run a trial as efficiently as possible while still creating a supportive atmosphere for the exhibitors.

§  To be aware of events happening inside and outside of the ring. Aggressive behavior by any dog must be addressed with the owner. Depending on the severity of the behavior, it may be a suggestion to move the dog to a different location, up to removing the dog from the show location.

§  To address handler delivered corrections/punishments outside of the ring. Depending on the severity, the first instance may be a warning to not do it again, up to asking the handler to leave the show grounds.

§  To address occurrences of handlers working their dog off leash when not in the ring, unless an off-leash area is available/designated at the show site.

§  To include any incidents in the post trial paperwork, and how they were dealt with.

§  To provide judges evaluation following the trial.

§  Submit post-trial results within 7 days.

§  Host at least one event every 18 months.

§  Allow Shirley and Mark Ottmer entries at trial at a cost of $5 per run.
