Horseshoe Bend Park is located in Kingwood Township, New Jersey and consists of 452 acres of woods, streams and fields. The park currently has over 5.5 miles of trails used for hiking, horseback riding and bird watching with an additional 2.5 miles of trails being constructed in 2013. Land purchases currently being negotiated by Kingwood Township and the State of New Jersey will add an additional 248 acres – increasing the total park size to 700 acres. The park is adjacent to the Delaware and Raritan State Park, which has a 70-mile towpath along the Delaware River.

We are very excited to announce our first Distance Riding 101 Clinic!!!
September 27 and 28, 2013
This clinic will be geared toward introducing you to the sport of endurance riding through a hands-on approach. Friday will include interactive workshops and Saturday will include a 5-mile or 10-mile guided ride. (Riders Choice)
Patti Stedman and Sandy Terp will be presenting the workshops and Dr. Meg Sleeper will be doing the AERC veterinary examinations. Topics will include an in depth look at how to prepare the horse & rider team, how the competitions work and how to have not only success – but FUN!

Accommodations:
Camping will be in a large grassy field; campers must bring their own equipment (tents, sleeping bags, etc). Sleeping in horse trailers on a cot is an alternative. Porta potties provided. You are responsible for containing your horse. Portable fencing is allowed and camping will be in a fenced field; gate will be shut overnight. Horse water will be available. Please plan to provide all other needs for your horse (feed, buckets, tack, blankets, etc). We will run rain or shine, be prepared!
** ** Arrival anytime on Friday is OK, but ride management will not arrive until shortly before noon.

Requirements:
- A SEI certified helmet (you will not be allowed to ride without one)
- A Current Negative Coggins Certificate (dated within 12 months from clinic date)
- A Current Rabies Certificate (dated within 12 months from clinic date)

There are only 25 Mounted Participation slots available (unlimited auditors). Entries will be accepted up until September 15, BUT IF THERE ARE NOT ENOUGH ENTRIES TO FINANCE THE CLINIC, THE CLINIC WILL BE CANCELED ON September 16 so please sign up before this date. Refunds given (less a $25 clerical fee for mounted participation entries, $15 for audit entries) up to September 20. Refunds will be given after September 20 at the discretion of the clinic organizers depending on expenses. In the event that the clinic is cancelled, full refunds will be given.
