Early Years Practitioner Assistant

Job Description Pass 1

To work as part of the VauxhallNursery team providing high quality care and education.

Main Responsibilities-

To work and liaise as part of a team with the rest of the staff on a daily basis.

To contribute (with the support of colleagues) towards planningusing the Early Years Foundation Stage.

To ensure your own training audit is kept up to date.

To manage your own attendance effectively.

To work as part ofthe team in carrying out their duties on a daily basis, including cleaning duties.

To work in partnership with parents and carers, building good relationships and sharing information with them on their child’s progress. Recognising that they are the child’s first and most influential educator.

To promote speech, language and communication through a range of appropriate activities and experiences within the setting (ECAT Every Child’s A Talker) with support.

To work as a named key worker to keep children’s records and learning journey’s up to date and use next steps in planning and observation, with support if needed.

To use positive behaviour management strategies in line with the centre’s policies and procedures.

To ensure confidentiality is maintained at all times and that information about children and families is only shared on a need to know basis.

To contribute towards the cleanliness, hygiene and risk assessments of the toys, equipment and environment.

To attend and contribute to regular staff meetings.

To be willing to undertake all relevant training.

To be committed to implementing the Equal Opportunities and Diversity policies.

To ensure that all services are fully inclusive and fully support the requirements of children and families with special needs.

Ensure the environment meets the needs of individual children from different cultural and religious backgrounds and stages of development.

To participate in parent’s evenings, publicity events, open weekends and children’s outings/trips, with support.

To understand and adhere to all policies and procedures within the nursery.

To carry out any other duties prescribed by the manager/deputy/senior management team

To recognise safeguarding, health and safety and whistle blowing are paramount within Vauxhall Children’s Centre Nursery and as an employee you have a duty of care to follow this procedures.
