We had the Crayola Lady come in on January 31st to teach us how to make 10 different books with children. The workshop was great, we got tons of materials to use, and Heather was a fantastic resource for us all. The workshop was sold out on EventBrite, and ended up with 25 participants on the day of!!!

Monday, March 24th @ 5pmSCDSB Essential Practices & BIPSA
This workshop will give you the opportunity to engage in dialogue and accountable talk with some of SCDSB's Administrators focusing on SCDSB's Essential Practices and the Board Improvement Plan for Student Achievement and Well-Being. You will also have the opportunity to look closely at each of the Essential Practices to establish what each looks like in the classroom, how it is reflected in the teacher's practice and the resources you can access to support each one.

This workshop focuses on inquiry which is a vital component of the Intermediate science and technology program. Throughout the session participants will explore scientific method and inquiry models through hands-on participation in practical and engaging activities.
Tuesday, April 22nd @5pmEnvironmental and Experiential Learning
Participants will have the opportunity to engage in two workshops that will both focus on environmental stewardship and resource management. The first workshop, “Who Am I?” is aimed at identifying elements of the natural world and recognizing features which enable animals to live in particular habitats and to eat certain diets. The second workshop, “When It Rains, It Pours,” is aimed at awareness about water and local watersheds.

Ensure you are prepared for your future behavioural interviews by conferencing with some of SCDSB’s Administrators. In this workshop, you will have the opportunity to practice effectively answering behavioural interview questions with the Situation Action Benefit (SAB) strategy.
Wednesday, June 4th @5pmPower 2 Be Me (Intermediate)
This is the intermediate-based Teach Nutrition workshop put on by the Dairy Farmers. We are in the first grouping of participants to receive this brand-new workshop!
Power 2B Me is an intermediate-level, cross curricular program that enables student to identify personal reasons to eat well. Through the use of in-class activities, videos, and online technology (including photo-journaling, polls, and food factoids), Grade 7 & 8 students explore personal healthy eating challenges and consider relevant solutions to make better food choices in various situations.
The program meets curriculum expectations for Health and Physical Education, as well as cross-curricular connections to subjects including Math and Language.
