Case study:

The objectives of the analysis are to:

·  Improve your knowledge of specific concepts and theories of management

·  Develop your ability to apply theories and concepts to practical situations

·  Encourage you to consider the effectiveness of various management theories and models as they relate to organisational functioning

·  Develop your skills in research, critical thinking and analysis

·  Develop your skills in academic writing

Length: 1,500 words (references are not include)

Format: Short Report format (In beginning short Introductions of case and in Body answer the questions no need of conclusion)

Criteria for assessment: at the end of this Course Description.

The case study: Case study 10.4, ‘A global enterprise operating in a host country – HR strategy in practice’ from Leopold & Harris (2009), pp 332-335. (case attached)

Case study questions: Activity 10.5, p. 335, answer Qs 1, 4 and 5 only (not Qs 2 & 3).

Use theories & models in your answers

Note: you are not expected to undertake extensive additional reading for the case study beyond the textbook, but make sure you read extensively within the textbook. You must cite references using the APA style and supply an alphabetised reference list.

Assessment Task 1: Case study (Worth 20%).

·  there are no spelling or typing errors and due regard is given to rules of capitalisation and abbreviation, etc.
APA style. (2 marks)
·  cited and listed the textbook as the source of the case study
·  in-text citations and direct quotes from the case study follow AP format
·  reference list correctly completed, e.g., alphabetically listed by first author’s last name.
