Happy New Year!

Just a reminder that the shop is closed December 23rd thru January 1st

I hope everyone has had a wonderful Holiday Season.We have a great selection of Classes, Tea Parties, Workshops, ClubsBlock-Of-The-Month programs for your winter enjoyment. Oh yes, I can’t forget to mention the NEW “Vintage Notions Club” &“Jo’s Little Women Club” that you won’t want to miss if you love the 19th century look. Also, “Christmas Club” ( a Pickering Farm Original) is back by popular demand.

I hope to see you all soon for one reason or another, but until then, sit back with a warm beverage and enjoy our 2014 winter class schedule.

Class Policy

**Class size is limited and payment for class is always at time of registration.

**If you register by phone, credit card payment is expected.

**If you cancel from a class you must give us 7 days notice in order to

receive a store credit.

**Because of our busy schedule we do not have make-up classes, so, PLEASE

mark your calendar & make every effort to arrive prepared.

**We reserve the right to cancel any class that does not meet the minimum.

**Supply lists are available only after registration & payment has been made.

**It is the responsibility of the student to pick up the needed supply list & supplies

prior to the date of class.

**Remember, helping you choose your fabrics for class is always a pleasure!

HAMPTON RIDGE BLOCK-OF-THE-MONTH REMINDER – The dates for those of you who are in this program are; January 12th, Feb 9th & March 9th

BALTIMORE BUNNIES BLOCK-OF-THE-MONTH REMINDER – The dates for those of you in this program are; January 19th, February 16th & March 16th

PRAIRIE ROSE – JO MORTON BLOCK-OF-THE-MONTH – This is a 9 month program where the class meets every month starting February 8th, March 8th , No April Class due to Quilt Show, May 10th thru November 8th (2nd Saturday of each month) 9:30 – 12:00. Class Fee is 90.00 which can be paid in two monthly installments of $45.00 each. 2nd installment is due July 1st. BOM Program is $25.95 a month with 1st& last month paid at time of registration. You can also just choose to pick up the BOM or have us ship it right to your door.

CINNAMON ROLL SUNDAY – Join us for breakfast that includes three different varieties of homemade cinnamon rolls, juices, coffee & tea along with a fun wool appliqué project that is just perfect for winter.

MACHINE PIECING FOR BEGINNERS – I have had a lot of requests to teach a beginner class, so here it is. Learn to machine piece & make half square triangles that actually come out the proper size for your project. In this two week class we will be making a small table runner in your choice of colors. A ¼” foot with a metal guard that fits your machine is required for this class. Please ask us about this foot.

PUNCH NEEDLE BLACKBIRD PINCUSHION – Many of you have seen my pincushion perched on an antique oil can & would like to make one. This is your chance to learn the art of punch needle & discover all the fun & adorable things you can create with this art.

Saturdays, January 25th & February 1st1:00 – 4:00Fee: $30.00 Plus Supplies

VINTAGE STYLE SEWING NOTIONS CLUB – In this club we will be making four different antique inspired notions using different techniques. The club meets the 4th Sunday of each month on January 26th, February 23rd, March 23rd & April 27th from 1:00 – 4:00 Fee: $40.00 plus small kit fee for

project at each meeting.

FINISH IT UP FRIDAY – This is a perfect time to dig out those (UFO’s) & finish them up. Bring whatever you need help on to the class & I will circulate the room & assist everyone on their projects. Steve & I will serve a light supper & dessert.

TEA PARTY – VALENTINE MEMORIES – Join us for a delightful afternoon with friends, sewing & treats from Steve’s Kitchen. We will be creating a wool appliqué project designed by Pickering Farm & just perfect for the Valentine Holiday.

Sunday, February 2nd2:00 – 5:00Fee: $30.00 Includes Kit

CHRISTMAS CLUB WORKSHOPS- Back by popular demand. Join us once a month for six months & make a different portion of a progressive project. This year we will be making a Sheppardsnowman tending his flock, complete with snowman, large standing sheep, Sheppard’s robe, feed bag, Sheppard’s hook & a flock of small sheep. Club meets the 3rd Saturday of each month starting February 15th. 1:00 – 4:00 Club Fee: $60.00 plus small kit fee for project at each meeting.

JO’S LITTLE WOMEN “Club 13” – These small 19th century style quilts are very intriguing to a lot of us. They are like candy. We want to have them all. This is a 10 month session (8 different projects) that meets the 2nd Saturday of each month from 1:00-4:00. We work on a different project each month (2 of the projects span 2 months) using all Jo Morton fabrics from Andover.Every project will be machine pieced with one quilt having applique. To join the club you purchase the current stack of Jo Morton fabric that is due to arrive in January, along with a few additional Jo’s fabrics that you might need from month to month.

Only Jo’s fabrics are allowed to be used in the projects. Class starts March 8th. No April class due to Quilt Show.First Five Month Installment Payment for Classes & Patterns:$65.00.Second Installment of $65.00 is due by July 1st. Club Membership is limited. You may also choose for us to send the patterns & fabrics monthly instead of attending the classes.

PINEAPPLE LOG CABIN – This is a 3 week class where students will learn how to paper foundation piece the very complicated looking log cabin blocks. Make as many as you desire for what ever size project you want to create from table runner to queen size.

TEA PARTY – THINK SPRING – Join us & create a delightful Pickering Farm wool appliqué project while enjoying delicious refreshments, what could be better?

CABIN FEVER RETREAT – By this time of winter everyone is ready for a get away. Join us for a fun weekend of sewing, friends & food. Students will arrive by 9:30 for coffee & muffins on Saturday March 29th,sew until noon (Bring a bagged lunch for Saturday). Resume sewing until 4:00, we will keep the coffee pot hot. Then, return on Sunday March 30th at noon for a delightful lunch & dessert provided by Pickering Farm, resume sewing until 4:00. What could be better? We will be making a very easy strip pieced quilt designed by Pickering Farm & made from fat quarters. Pre-cutting is required. Cost of Retreat includes 20 cotton fat quarters of your choice so that your quilt can be any style you like (Batik fat quarters add $6.00 to cost). Space is limited so register early. If you are driving a distance we can recommend several overnight establishments.

Saturday & Sunday, March 29th & 30thFee: $125.00, Includes all fabrics for quilt top. Binding & backing sold separately.
