8th Grade Math/Science
Our 8th Grade student facilitators started a student-led project in October, learning about the Periodic Table as a TED-Ed Club. On March 18th, they completed their culminating product for that project - an Interactive Periodic Table Exhibit for Science Central. The exhibit opened on Sunday, March 20th at Science Central’s Science Fair Day. Six of our student facilitators, Amaela Bruce, Zeah Merritt, Thea Lwin, Casey Chapman, Annijah McGraw, and Mya Statler, attended the exhibit opening with Mrs. Walters to unveil their project. To help complete this project, students received a Donors Choose Grant to purchase iPads that will be a part of the final exhibit. The generous donors include Exxon Mobil and Think It Up Supporters, #BestSchoolDay, Willy Fryman, and Erik Mygrant. Thanks to everyone for their support of this project! Their exhibit is on display in the Demonstration Theater and will remain there until next year’s 8th graders replace it with their own.

CANstruction
Have you heard what the CANstruction Team is building this year? We’re using the lovable Smurfs as the theme for our display. We will be building our structure on April 15th at the Glenbrook Mall. Come see our display and help our Towles Team win the People’s Choice Award this year by voting for our structure from April 16th to April 24th. You can vote by bringing a canned or non-perishable food item to Glenbrook Mall to place in our structure’s voting bin during the week. If we win, we could have a chance at winning $1000 towards next year’s CANstruction competition. We appreciate your continued support! CANstruction is anational charity of the design and construction industry created by the Society of Design Administration. It helps our local community harvest food bank in collecting cans for the hungry. CANstruction is one of the largest fundraisers that our food bank has each year.
