VeryRev.JohnSchusterhasannouncedhisretirementfromthepositionofModeratorofthe Curia,whichwillbecomeeffectiveatthetimeofthepastoralmovesinAugust,2018.Fr. SchusterwillcontinuetoservetheDioceseofCalgaryasVicarGeneral. Fr.Schusterhas workedattheCatholicPastoralCentreasModeratoroftheCuriaandVicarGeneral since1989. Fr.Schusterwas borninCliftonville,SaskatchewanandordainedtothepriesthoodonMay1st1965byArchbishopJordan.Fr.SchusterhasservedattheCatholicPastoralCentreandseveral parishesoftheCalgaryDioceseasPastorandAssistantPastor.Additionally,hisbrotherpriests haveelectedhimtothepositionsofDeanandViceDean.Fr.Schusterisarespectedpriestin theDiocesewhoseministryhassupportedthegrowthoftheDioceseanditsfaithfulness. Heis awell-lovedpresenceattheCatholicPastoralCentreknownforhisempathy,quickwit,and shortmeetings. Fr.Schustersays,"Ihavehappilyandobediently servedfiveBishopsandseen thegrowthoftheDioceseoverthattime.Itisablessinginmylifetohavehadtheopportunity toserveasModeratoroftheCuriaandIwillcontinuetosupportBishopMcGrattanandFr. Rev.WilbertChinJonwillbeappointedasModeratoroftheCuriafortheDioceseofCalgary effectiveAugust1,2018.Fr.ChinJonwas borninthePhilippinesandordainedtothe priesthoodatSt.Mary'sCathedral,Calgaryin2004.Hehasanundergraduate degreeinMass CommunicationfromtheAteneodeDavaoUniversity,aJesuituniversityinthePhilippines,a Master ofDivinitydegreefromSt.Peter'sSeminaryinLondon,Ontario.Fr.ChinJonhasfourteenyearsofexperienceinparishministry as Associate,AdministratorandPastor. Fr.ChinJonwasPastorofOurLadyoftheRockiesinCanmorefrom2015untilthepresent.AsofApril13,2018.Fr.ChinJonwillresideatSt.Bernard's/OurLadyoftheAssumptioninCalgaryand administratetheparishuntilthetimeofthepastoralmoveswhenhewillassumethefull-time roleofModeratoroftheCuriafortheDioceseofCalgary.He willalsobeginaperiodoforientationattheDiocesanPastoralCentreunderthedirectionofBishopWilliamMcGrattanandFr.JohnSchuster.

Fr.NathanSirayisappointedasPastoratOurLadyoftheRockiesinCanmoreeffectiveApril

13,2018. Fr.SiraywasborninCalgaryandordainedtothepriesthoodin2011.Hereceivedhis MasterofDivinitydegreefromSt.Augustine'sSeminaryinToronto.Mostrecentlysince2015, Fr.SirayservedasPastoratSt.Bernard's/OurLadyoftheAssumptioninCalgary. OnDecember3,2017, BishopMcGrattanannouncedthedesignationofthenewchurch,OurLadyofthe Rockies,asaDiocesan MarianShrine,takingeffecton theconsecrationofthenewchurch building.Fr.SiraywillpastorallyleadthisvisionforthenewchurchinhisappointmentatOur LadyoftheRockiesParish.
