5.NBT.1 Recognize that in a multi-digit number, a digit in one place represents 10 times as much as it repre-sents in the place to its right and 1/10 of what it repre-sents in the place to its left. / Students write the standard, expanded, and word forms of whole numbers in the billions and identify the value of digits in whole numbers / Ask students to tell you how numbers can be used and how our number system is based. / Tell students numbers can be used to tell how many and that our number system is based on groups of ten. Whenever we get 10 in one place value, we move to the next greater place value. / Watch video and do pg. 6-7 do 1-10 in small whiteboards
HW: assign math packet for practice L.1-3 for Mon. / Students raise hand to show (1-4) if they understand the decimal place value

Give three fractions that are equivalent to this using denominators of 20, 50, 100.
