LDRS 24 Contests and Promotions
Who can participate??? Any Members of Tripoli Rocketry Association.
What: This contest is to find the Fastest Rocket Powered by a Hybrid Motor. Motor Sizes Must be high Power H to O Impulse, Certified Hybrid Rocket Motors.
When: The contest will be held during the first 3 Days of LDRS 24. Prize Winners will be announced on Saturday Night at the LDRS Banquet.
Location: LDRS 24 Launch Site, A.k.a.RocLake, just outside of Lethbridge, Canada.
Why: This contest will be fun! It assures some neck snapping, rocket shredding Fun! There are some great prizes as well!
How to Enter: If you will be entering a contest by Contrail Rockets LLC. we ask that you e-mail us regarding your project before hand. However, you can sign up and compete in this competition at the launch site as well.
How to Win? Power Your Rocket to the fastest speed you can. However there are stipulations, please read below for more information.
Prizes: Prizes will be given at the LDRS Banquet. Prizes for this contest consist of:
1st Place: 500 Dollar Gift Certificate to Contrail Rockets
2nd Place: 250 Dollar Gift Certificate to Contrail Rockets
3rd Place: 100 Dollar Gift Certificate to Contrail Rockets
*** Gift Certificates may be used for the purchase of Hardware and Reloads only. Gift Certificates Expire after 1 Year.
Rules:
1)RSO and LCO Have the Last say as to what rocket will fly. Safety Comes First.
2)All Participants of this Contest must be registered flyers at LDRS 24.
3)Participants must use their own rocket. No rocket can be used to win multiple prizes in this contest.
4)An Approved Recording Altimeter, GPS Unit, or Accelerometer must be used to prove Speed.
5)The SealedAvionicsBay must be brought to an LCO, RSO, or to the Contrail Rockets Vendor Booth for Verification of Speed.
6)Single Stage Rockets Only.
7)A Safe Recovery via Parachute is Required to be considered for winning prizes.
8)The Judges Ruling is Final.
9)Contrail Rockets LLC. Will not be held responsible for destroyed rockets. This contest has the possibility to push rockets to their limit. Please Be Aware of Risks!
10)You do not need to be present at the LDRS Banquet to win.
11)Have Fun Flying Hybrids!
Tips and Tricks to Winning:
1)Fast Motors are a better choice than slow motors. An M-1000 Is a better choice than an M-500. At the same time a M-500 would be better than a L-500.
2)Light Weight Rockets Fly Faster. Altitude is nothing in this contest. This contest is all about Fastest Speed.
3)Minimize Drag! Streamline your rocket as much as possible.
4)This contest may be won or lost by who is willing to put the most power into their rocket. Not many people would consider putting an M-2081 into their rocket, but sometimes it just has to be done!
