Dr. Matt Isenberg, Principal

Dear Orchestra Parents,

It is time once again to begin making preparations for our first concerts of the year. Therefore, we need to secure formal performance attire for all 7th and 8th grade orchestra students. The process of measuring students and collecting deposits will take place during class time.

Girls will wear long black dresses purchased from Southeastern Apparel. The top of the dress is made of stretch velvet, and the skirt is made of a crepe material. The dress features an inverted pleat in the back for a cascade-like effect. It is machine washable (I would suggest washing it separately on the gentle/delicate cycle). The dresses come un-hemmed, so you will be responsible for making the necessary alterations. The total cost of the girls’ uniform is $75.00.

** Special Note Concerning Girls Uniform: The hem, or bottom of the dress, should fall just below the ankle bone so that it touches the top of the foot. Anything shorter than this tends to make the dress fit incorrectly. You will want to make sure you leave some material in the hem in the event your child grows taller and the hem needs to be adjusted. In addition to the dress, girls will need a pair of solid black, closed toe dress shoes with a back or heel strap.

Boys will wear black tuxedo pants, a white tuxedo shirt, black bow tie, and a black vest. Boys’ uniforms will be purchased from Black-Tie Formalwear in Stockbridge. A representative from the store will come in during class time to measure all of the boys. The pants come un-hemmed, so you will be responsible for making the necessary alterations. The cost of the boys’ uniform is $80.00.

** Special Note Concerning Boys Uniform: The hem, or bottom of the pants, should fall just below the ankle bone so that it touches the top of the foot. Anything shorter than this tends to make the pants not fit correctly. You will want to be sure you leave some material in the hem in the event your child grows taller and the hem needs to be adjusted. In addition to the formal uniform parts, boys will need black dress socks and solid black dress shoes. Black tennis shoes or boots are not appropriate for a formal uniform.

The uniform deposit is $40.00. The remaining balance will be due when your child’s uniform arrives. If you prefer to pay the entire amount in advance, that will be fine. Uniforms will not be sent home with students until the full payment has been received. If you need to make further arrangements concerning payment, please feel free to contact me so that we can work together.

The uniform deposit and slip are due by Wednesday, September 9th. This will allow just enough time for shipping and delivery so that you can make the necessary alterations before the Fall Concert. Please feel free to contact me by phone (678-583-8978) or e-mail () if I can be of any further assistance.

Sincerely,

Kathy Saucier
