Year 8 & Peer Support - Splash Carnival
Dear Parent / Caregiver,
One of the major focuses of the Peer Support program is to support Year 8 students in their transition to High School and promote the development of positive peer relationships. To support these aims the Year 11 Peer Support Leaders will organise and run a Splash Carnival Day for Year 8 students at Norwood Pool. This will occur on Wednesday 27th February from lesson 4 – 7.
Time:Depart Marryatville High School 11.30am
Students to assemble in Home Groups on the front lawn at the end of recess and walk to the pool.
Students will be dismissed at 3.00pm from Norwood Pool
Cost:No cost to students
Activities:Students will be involved in a range of fun water activities including relays and novelty events.
Bring:Bathers & rash top, hat, sun cream, snacks
Students can either bring their lunch or purchase it from the pool canteen.
School Students must wear school uniform for lessons 1 – 3. They will have opportunity to change into Uniform: bathers when they get to the pool.
Health Students will be involved in a range of team building and water activities whilst on this excursion.

Relevant for this type of activity and environment. Please ensure that if students require medication
(ie asthma puffer, bee sting medication etc.), they carry it with them on the day.
Hot Weather:The following precautions will be in place to ensure that students are safe:
- Home group teachers & Peer Support Leaders will discuss the importance of Sun Safety prior to the day
- Extra sun shades will be erected for student shelter
- Extra drinking water will be available for students to refill water bottles.
- Sunscreen will be available for student use
- If the forecast temperature for Wednesday 27.2.13 is 37 degrees or above (as printed in the Advertiser on Tuesday 26.2.13) the event will be cancelled and students will be expected to be prepared for and attend normal lessons.
