2016 Taconic Retreat

What? A multi-church weekend event with games, music, worship, seminars, and good times, all for the purpose of growing in Christ and celebrating His amazing love for us.

How much? Price per person is $125 (due February 21, 2016)
How are we handling meals?
· There will be no Friday dinner provided. Please eat before you come!
· There will be a snack bar at the camp where students may purchase snacks. So as not to tempt little critters, the camp requests attendees not bring their own individual snacks. Any snacks seen in dorm areas will be confiscated by your leaders. We are asking that each camper donate a packaged snack (not homemade) to share during Saturday afternoon free time. These snacks will be collected upon arrival.
What to pack:
· Bible
· Pencil or pen
· Notebook or journal
· Layered warm clothes for three days including an extra change of clothes for outdoor play
· Warm jacket
· Soap, toothbrush and other toiletries
· Sledding equipment
· Flashlight
· An item for our mission project: toothbrush, toothpaste, shampoo, deodorant, socks, underwear, bottled water, meal bars
· A packaged (not homemade) snack to give to your leader for the retreat “snack bank”
· Dollar bills for the soda vending machines. Your leaders will not have change!
· Please try to pack light!
DO NOT bring:
· iPods, mp3 players, any handheld games, or other personal portable entertainment items.
· Note: The camp will provide ALL towels and bedding, including pillows. Please do not bring your own!
Don’t forget to turn in your signed covenant & full retreat fee by February 21, 2016.
Taconic Retreat CODE OF CONDUCT
To provide the best experience, all retreat participants agree to the following:
· NO PRANKING.
· To help the retreat time be focused on interacting with God and others, I will not bring electronic video devices or computers. I UNDERSTAND THERE IS NO SECURITY FOR VALUABLES.
· In order to have the proper focus on building relationships with others and with God, I understand that I may only use my cell phone for emergencies, to call home, and at approved times.
To show respect for those around me:
· I will dress and behave modestly.
· I will not act or behave in a way that creates distractions or disruptions to other participants or staff.
· I will not damage the lodging facility or other property.
· I will not use obscene or abusive language, or engage in reckless behavior that could cause harm to others or myself.
· I will honor the scheduled lights-out time.
· I will not engage in any misconduct which can include inappropriate comments, gestures, or physical contact.
· I understand the “no purple” rule: no girls in guys’ areas, no guys in girls’ areas.
· I will follow directives of the adult leaders. These include but are not limited to staying within designated camp boundaries, and being in designated meeting areas at specified times.
· I will act as a positive role model, respect the spiritual growth and work goals of the camp, and participate in all scheduled activities.
It is out of respect for God, ourselves, and others that we abide by these rules. If you violate these rules, you may be requested to leave the retreat without reimbursement.

Taconic Retreat Covenant

Taconic Retreat Photo/Recording Release
We may be recording events from the Taconic Retreat in a variety of ways including (but not limited to) photos, videos and other recordings, (collectively, the “Recordings”). Your youth’s name, voice, image, picture, verbal statements and/or documentary or other materials (“Content”) may be included in one or more of those recordings by virtue of your participation in Taconic Retreat.
By parent/guardian signature below you irrevocably consent to the creation of the Recordings and the unrestricted use by those individuals and churches attending Taconic Retreat.
I hereby waive any right to review, inspect or approve the recordings, or electronic imagery that may be used.
Additionally, I hereby release Taconic Retreat and those acting under its authority from any and all claims or liabilities relating in any way to use of the recordings.
