1:30 – Introduction of the Executive Council, Future Leaders (Daniélou)
1:35 –JNCL Report from guest speaker Bill Rivers. Key accomplishments, successes of the past year, APAC grant was discussed. Grant for briefing paper, opened a reserve account to reduce association deficit, and membership is 125 organizations, up from 61 four years ago.
1:51 – Abratementioned the JNCL website, and a weekly News Brief shared with Executive Council
1:54 – Daniélouannounced the Dictée winners
1:58 – Abrate and Daniélou discussed various agenda topics, strategic plan, reports, membership. It was moved, seconded, and passed unanimously to approve the Delegate Assembly minutes from the Saguenay convention.
2:01 – Abratereported on the Austin convention.
2:04 – Abratecontinued with the Executive Director report. Discussed issues and problems with headquarters from February and March and strategies and procedures to address them. Joyce Beckwith discussed the ACTFL convention in Boston.
2:19 – Janel Laford-Paquinspoke about what her future leaders has done this year and introduced the leadership fellows.
2:45 – E. Ousselinpresented the French Review report.
2:59 – Dierckswas introduced as the new National Bulletineditor and gave her report.
3:01 – Narug gave the Grand Concours report and presented issues with online testing.
3:05 – Regional Representatives were introduced and gave their reports.
3:32 – Daniélou gave a preliminary report about the convention in Saint Louis
3:35 – Nominating committees presented their reports.
3:36 – It was moved, seconded, and passed unanimously to dispense with the reading of the minutes.
3:40 – Davis gave a brief summary of Commission Reports.
3:43 – Kashuba reported on this year’s exemplary programs.
3:47 – Abrate introduced the new SHF president and council members. Abbe Guillet, Katy Wheelock, Justin Frieman Charles. She warned about dormant or inactive chapters. She reminded chapters that lists of former and prospective teachers are available on the chapter officers website.
3:55 – General discussion of issues of concern to the chapters.
4:23 – It was moved, seconded, and passed unanimously to approve the motions passed by the Executive Council.
4:29 -It was moved, seconded, and passed unanimously to adjourn the meeting
