MHIT ONLINE DISCUSSION

“Play Therapy and Attachment”

This program was specifically designed to enhance an interpreter and clinician’s ability to understand and apply knowledge ofresearch to the service provision of deaf individuals within the Mental Health system of care.

Moderator: Alexis Greeves

This monthly on-line discussion will provide participants with opportunities to interact with interpreters in the field of deafness and explore research articles, discuss presentations and apply the online discussion to service provision.

The Objectives of the training:

  • Participants will learn at least three techniques for enhancing the relationship between parent and child
  • Participants will be able to identify the four dimensions of Theraplay®.
  • Participants learn at least three activities for each dimension of Theraplay®.

Target Audience:

  • Interpreters in Mental Health, Community Interpreters, Mental Health Professionals, School Counselors

TRAINING IS OFFERED AT NO COST FOR ALABAMA DMH STAFF and participants if the immediate past MHIT.
*For all others, there is a $35 per calendar year fee. This fee is due on January 1st of each year and is not pro-rated. Once payment is made, no refunds are available.

Individuals receiving continuing education must be present for the entire activity and must have reviewed all pre-discussion requirements; (such as reading the article or PowerPoint presentation or reviewing required supplemental readings). Participants must make substantial postings or contributions to the group discussion.

Registration and payment must be received one week prior to beginning of session.
