ACTION TAKEN/RECOMMENDATION:

So, students see them everyday, like the parking permit. Put pins on cards in more locations that have high traffic. Examples: Campus Center, Los Olivos Commons and on counters in academic departments with large sign behind basket.

Handout at Bookstore during first week of quarter.

REASSESSMENT:

Re-evaluate in one year.

Results of this study will be sent to all QM&I Committee members, Gary Fredericksen, Manuel Perez, Dr. Laraine Turk, Dr. Gerald C. Hays, Cathy Baker, Kay Vierra, Jim Grizzell and other individuals on a "need to know" basis.

* The percentage of students who recall seeing materials is an implementation measure. It does not tell you much about how our efforts affect student’s knowledge, behavior, attitudes, perceptions, health or the bottom line of reducing consequences of drinking. Evaluating implementation should be done early in the program to ensure that all is happening as you planned. In this example, if students are not seeing the messages, other measures of evaluation (standards, efficiency, effectiveness, outcome) would be meaningless.

** Threshold percentage used is set at the same as the best method students indicate for getting information. This method is posters on stakes and has been found to be 35% to 40%.
