Action 2 - Members will consider activity in relation to opioid prescribing at its next meeting. / Members / The NMP Executive has prepared advice for Government on quality use of opioid analgesia. Awaiting response before considering activity for Commission.
Action 3 - The Commission will pursue the matter of national medication safety guidance (including alerts) through the HSMEAG in the first instance. / Commission / See Agenda Item 10
Action 4 - The Commission will prepare a paper on automation of medicines management for discussion at the next meeting. / Commission / See Agenda Item 13
Action 5 - The Commission will continue to advocate mandatory inclusion of medicines fields in all PCEHR summary documents. / Commission / Ongoing. PCEHR concept of operations document requires medicines in:
· Shared health summary
· Discharge summary (also requires ceased meds)
· Specialist letters
· Referrals
Action 6 – Members recommended that the Commission develop a guide to safer labelling of dispensed medicines. / Commission / Included in work plan. See Agenda Item 6

Action 3 - The Commission will identify additional medical representation on the Health Services Medication Expert Advisory Group. The preference is for a doctor from the Medication Reference Group to provide a link between the two groups. / Commission / AMA Doctor-in-Training representative appointed.
