Tax season is officially here. Our tax professionals Cory Lindgren, Courtney Knuth, Colette Campbell and Colleen Mether will be serving you this coming year. We will be open extended hours from January 29 through April 16 as follows:

·  Monday – Thursday: 9:00 AM to 9:00 PM

·  Friday – Saturday: 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM

As a reminder our hours outside of tax season are Monday – Friday from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM and by appointment outside of these hours.

New Name?

Some of you may have noticed that we have dropped the name Lindgren & Associates. As part of our move this year, our plan was to drop our DBA (Doing Business As) name and only go by our corporate name of Lindgren Tax & Accounting, Inc. By using this name solely, we hope the use of Lindgren Tax & Accounting, Inc. projects the services that we offer in a clearer manner.

New Location, New Mailing Address, Improved Service

As you should be aware we moved our office to 11183 Lake Boulevard – Suite 102, Chisago City, MN. This address is now our mailing address also. We no longer have a PO Box in Lindstrom since we are able to receive mail at our new location.

We share our building with Anytime Fitness next to Midwest One Bank on the south side of Highway 8. Some of you may have noticed that another local accounting/tax firm moved into our old location in Lindstrom, so please keep this in mind when you come to drop off your taxes or other information at our office.

Moving to this new location will allow for additional expansion in the future and increase scheduling availability with your tax preparer since everyone now has their own offices at this location. For this coming tax season, Lindgren Tax & Accounting, Inc. will be changing our business/service model a little bit also in an effort to improve our customer service. While the process of preparing your income taxes will not change, we are hoping these changes will improve your relationship, communication, and turnaround time for getting your taxes done. Most of these changes are in the background and won’t even be noticed, but we are confident that these changes will greatly improve our service and turnaround times.

3.  Signed Engagement Letter – Enclosed – All clients must read and sign this prior to us preparing your return.

Lindgren Tax & Accounting, Inc. Staff Updates

This year you will be working with Cory, Courtney, Colette or Colleen. For those of you that worked with Karen Anderson last year, you will be working with one of these four preparers since she no longer works for our firm. We will also have a new employee, Wade, that will be assisting our tax professionals as needed with needed information follow up and the data entry part of the tax returns training during this coming tax season. Cory’s wife Shawna will also be around more this tax season assisting staff with various items as well.

Portal System & Electronic Signatures

Lindgren Tax & Accounting, Inc. launched an online portal system last year, with many clients electing to use this free service. Why should you elect to use this as well? First, you will now have 24/7 access to a digital copy of your tax return so there will no longer be a need to drag out your hard copy when you need to send a copy of your return to another party. Second, you can upload you tax documents to this folder if you do not need to meet with your tax professional and we can then download the documents so that we can prepare your taxes. If you aren’t already set up on this portal, please provide us your email addresses and we will get you set up with this service.

Additionally, some of you utilized the new electronic service for signing your returns. If you are not able to come into our office to sign the return so we can e-file it, we can now have you sign your return from your smartphone, computer etc. and will mail your return or upload a copy of the return and documentation needed to the portal mentioned above.
